Video Production and Education

Howdy

This spring in my f2f class I had my Earth science and my physical science class create videos based on a podcast put on by the McDonald's Observatory. Students were given the audio track from CD's and then used pictures found on the internet and then used movie maker to make a movie. A great component of using the podcast is that a transcript of the podcast was available so students could look at the text and use it to find pictures.

Here is the scoring rubric given to students with the assignment. Table's didn't work to well in Blogspot here is a link to a web page with the scoring guide.

Here are some examples of students work:

Here is my sample movie that student used to understand the project this video is on Teacher Tube.

Another project was a 30 second commercial here is my take on the assignment.

Talk to you later.

Omigosh, Jason, this is AWESOME! With your permission, I'd like to use this as an exemplar for others.

I have lots of questions, though--about how long it took, what the next steps are, etc., but I'll send them in an email.
