In science it can be beneficial to create ways to remember things. For example a lot of people have learned the order to the colors of the rainbow by using Roy G BV, which stands for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. So you have five layers to remember and the order of them and a key feature so how can you remember all of that? Go to the following discussion board and leave your answer.
So click on Comments below and leave your answer to remembering the layers of the atmosphere.

Hopefully you are wrapping your studies on the water cycle. You should have made an online power point using thumbstacks.com. You have posted to an earlier discussion question on the water cycle. You have done the scattergory game and researched some of the terms on that corresponding web page and are ready to answer for me two questions.
The first question is:
What is evapotranspiration?
and the second is:
What is infiltration?
Please click on # comments to post your response.

From the mouth of Babes
Howdy
I have been going to post this for awhile so I am going to combine a few thoughts.
My youngest Boo is quite the character. Recently my wife and I bought a new pickup. So we were driving down the road talking about it and our youngest over hearing the conversation pipes up daddy's ketchup. So I am the proud owner of a solid white pickup with the name ketchup.
Another story about our youngest is how many syllables words have. I am not sure why or when it started but her high chairto her is a two syllable word and she wants to have three syllables so high chair is called the hi chi chair.
My oldest daughter has recently learned to peddle her tricycle. She loves to burn rubber up and down the sidewalk. Her favorite thing was to go as fast as she could and then crash into the gate with her front tire. Then she learned to hit the brakes and stops on a dime before crashing into the gate. We took the bike down to my nephew’s birthday party and she was giving my youngest nephew rides on the back of her tricycle.

Hopefully you have successfully created an online powerpoint using thumbstacks.com. In your powerpoint you were to include how the following methods of heat transfer: radiation, convection, and conduction are part of the water cycle. In this blog you are expected to answer the following question: how does density of water vapor change during a convection cell current as it makes a complete path?
Please click on comments to leave your answer to this question. If your answer is not complete you will be asked to leave more information.

In my Web 2.0 page there is a link to MindMeister which allows multiple users to manipulate a concept map. This blog entry is designed for students to leave a comparison of their concept map to the concept map I have created. In some ways creating or manipulating a concept map is not a right or wrong type question but a process in which students read through terms and group them into groups how they feel they should be organized. Some terms don't belong together and some terms need to be separated into categories under a main heading. In order to complete the concept map students will need to do research on the terms and how they relate to the general theme of the map and group the terms and organize the information into categories. The concept map will need to have some categories added but all terms should be put into a group. Some terms maybe used in more then one place.
The purpose of this blog is for you the student to leave questions about the process and to defend your concept map creation to the one that I will email you once you email me that you have a final product. Click on Post a Comment to leave your opinions.
Talk to you later.

Virtual Camping with my Daughters
Howdy
Today my daughters wanted to do a pretend camping trip. They built a pretend fire pit complete with sticks from around the yard and piled them up to look like a camp fire. We then pretended to roast hot dogs followed by marshmallows. At the end of the campfire I suggested that I would tell them a story. Not ghosts story just a story since they are only two and four. But my oldest said she didn’t want a story that she wanted a movie. I said a movie we don’t have anything to watch a movie with, but I was wrong she got out her pretend portable DVD and we pretended to watch a movie. Luckily, I did get to tell my story after the movie was over.
These digital kids these days.

Here is my latest poll:
In this poll you should have answered it in the previous page and the answer is: convection. Convection is a means of energy transfer in which material heats up and becomes less dense then it originally started. Once a material is less dense it tends to rise as more dense material comes into contact with heat source and eventually will also become less dense and rise therefore creating a circular movement of material. My question to you is why does the material become less dense?
Please leave your response by clicking on comments and leave your answer to the above question. If you are one of the first to repond be sure to check back and see what others are saying and look for my posting which will give you my answer to the question.

So you have taken the poll and have seen what other people have put so what is the right answer. Please leave me your answer and why you think you are right. This poll is a little more exact then the last one and there is only one correct answer. From this part of the discussion we can come up with a new definition of mass to include this property which is what? Please leave your response once I have a few posts I will give you my answer and why it is right. To leave a post click on the word comments below.

My Daughter's
Howdy
Since I own another blog that I use for education I thought I would use this blog as an electronic journal of my life. I think that my oldest daughter is an amazing girl yesterday she brought me a toy car and she was excited because on the back of the car was a rectangular oval inset on the fender. She told me that this was the cars gas tank. It's amazing because if I am filling up the car she is always on the inside of the car and most of the time she isn't in the car. She seems to figure things out without being told. This morning she told me she had two dreams last night. In one dream she went to McDonald's but it was very small. At the McDonald's there was a pony with sparkles. She was also able to put sparkles in the pony's hair and her drink. I thought it was funny that she combined reality with her imagination.
My other daughter has been helping me to water the plants. Yesterday it was extremely hot reaching 94 degrees. So when it cooled down in the evening we went outside and watered all of the plants. She does a good job for a 2 year old I let her have a lot of fun watering one tree. I tell her to water the tree at the base and it is on a slope. In order for the water to get to the roots I try to get her to water on the uphill side. So I tell her to water up higher so she turns the hose straight into the air and waters the branches. She has a ball and I just laugh as she plays with the water.
That's all for now.

Favorite Event in Online Classes
Howdy
I would say I have several events.
I would say I have several events.
- The students realized that nothing was locked and proceeded to do the whole course in a week.
- A student was on TV.
- The TV student was knocked out and had a recording of the event.
- I did an IVC session with my Mac High students.
There are more but I can't think of them right now.

What did I learn?
Howdy
I learned that I need a degree in programming to pull of some of my great ideas. I learned when someone is digging they need to call and check for cable connections since part of my material was in an area that was cut off due to a cable being cut. I can't think of anything else.

Virtual 2x4
Howdy
Every time I put something on the internet I often say "Howdy." It's not a powerful knock you out of your socks 2x4 but it is something that I am consistent with. You could say that I am a red neck from a backwater school. I grew up in a small town and went to a large university and earned a bachelors in aerospace engineering. So basically you could call me a rocket scientist and just like the cavemen on TV that get offended when they say Geico is so easy a caveman can do it, I take offense when people say it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do a task. Actually I don’t take offense I have a little thinker skin then some caveman.
Getting back to my college days, while at college I was known as a small town boy and that image has stuck with me ever since. I was one of those people who graduated high school and swore to my self that I was never going to move back to that small town I had dreams of living in a much bigger city. So it seems ironic my nickname in college became the name of the town that I grew up in. People that I spent four years with in college thought my real name was Heppner not Jason. After graduating college I have moved a little bit but after a while I went back to school to become a teacher and my first permanent job as a teacher ends up being at the same school that I attended and I am teaching out of a classroom that I actually took classes in. So the irony of my life is very funny and when you graduate high school never say never.
